Audition
We sincerely thank you for your interest in auditioning for Bold City Opera's fourth season! We aim to make your audition experience as positive as possible. We encourage you to get to know who we are by visiting our About page before submitting your audition materials.
We are currently accepting audition applications for our Season Four Mainstage productions:
Rusalka (Sung in English) - November 6-8, 2026
Gianni Schicchi (Sung in Italian) - April 9-11, 2027
Please note that the roles of Rusalka, Ježibaba, and the Prince are already cast.
Our Mainstage productions are an opportunity for local & regional professional-level talent to be showcased in leading roles. We are also seeking talent for Outreach events, which are opportunities for local avocational, pre-professional, and professional artists to be showcased throughout our community.
In accordance with our mission to highlight and cultivate local talent, casting priority is given to Jacksonville and NE Florida-based singers. In the event a suitable regional singer is not able to be cast, our artistic team will then consider artists living outside the area. BCO is unable to provide artist housing to those unable to commute to rehearsals / performances. All opportunities are paid. All are welcome and encouraged to apply regardless of race, gender, age, and/or sexual orientation.
Mainstage Auditions
Round One (Video Submission) Requirements:
Video Submission Deadline: June 6, 2026
Please prepare two (2) contrasting operatic arias

One aria MUST be in English

One additional selection in any contrasting language or style
We will extend invitations for Round Two (in-person) audition appointments by June 20, 2026.
Round Two (In-Person) Requirements:
July 11, 2026 by invited appointment only in Jacksonville, FL
Please four (4) contrasting arias consisting of:

One English Aria

Three additional selections in any contrasting language/style

One of these may be from an operetta or musical

A pianist will be provided free of cost to you, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Outreach Auditions
Repertoire requirements are deliberately flexible to make auditions as accessible as possible. Seeking all voice types. Applicants must be based in the Jacksonville / NE Florida area.
Season 4 outreach auditions are accepted via video submission. Video Submission Deadline: June 5, 2026
